Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2004 at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church, in Ellaville, A. Interment will be in the church Cemetery. Elder Paul Swift will officiate. Mrs. Hicks was born January 1, 1928 to the late john Henry Hammond and Easter Mae Williams Hammond in Schley County, GA. She was the widow of Jessie L Hicks. Mrs. Hicks was a follower of Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church. She was the mother of the late Otis Hicks and Jessie James Hicks. She was also preceded in death by 8 siblings; Annie Maude Byse, Hettie Lee Harris, Roosevelt Hammond, Linda Reese, Viola Thomas, Blonzie Smith, Sallie Mae Hammond and Henry Jessie Hammond. Survivors are her children: Lola Hicks of Ellaville, GA, Almond Jean Norman (Ronnie) of Avondale, GA, Mildred Duggan (Rick) and Catherine Duggan (Reginald) of Lithonia, GA; Charles Derrick Hicks (Brenda) of Birmingham, AL; Lisa Evariste Joseph of Stockbridge, GA; Eric Hicks (Daphne) of Wilmington, DE; Denise Hicks of Atlanta, GA and Charles Junior Hicks (Maggie) of Ellaville, GA; one uncle: Theo Williams of Ideal, GA; an aunt: Bloomie Morris of Cleveland, OH; 23 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews. |
