Funeral services for Mrs. Millie Oliver Neal will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Little Poplar Spring Baptist Church in Byromville, GA. She was the daughter of Sam and Annie McKenzie Oliver and died Sunday, October 30, 2005. She eived her GS degree at Fort Valley State College and did additional study at Florida A&M and Tuskegee Institute. She retired with forty-four years of service from Dooly Count School System. Survivors include her son, Ollie J (Melba) Neal of Montezuma, four grandchildren, Kimberly Larry of Smyrna, Rodney Neal of Dublin, Cassandra Neal of Virginia and Sherry (Luis) Velez of Conyers; seven great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

She was born March 16, 1920 in Montgomery County, AL, daughter of Square and Laura Scott Henderson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Henderson and 2 sisters, laura Bell Henderson and Willie Mae Fluellen. Survivors include 3 sons, William C (Donna) Neal and Wayman Neal of Columbus, GA and Ernest P (Antionette) Neal of Miami, FL; a brother, William Henderson of Detroit, MI, a sister, Evelyn Neal Hill and a grandson, Sam Hill Jr.

Willie Essie Neal of Lewis Hicks Court, Montezuma, GA, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 24 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Byromville with burial in the church cemetery. She was born July 28, 1937 in Dooly County, daughter of Deacon Henry and Carrie Milton Near, Sr.. She was a 1955 graduate of Dooly County Industrial High School. She was an educator in the Dooly County School System for years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Ron M (Naomi) Neal of Kailua, Hawaii, her father and siblings: William Henry (Mary) Neal of Albany, Henry (Carolyn) Neal, Jr., of South Carolina, Barbara Jean Everett of St Petersburg, Ada (Ernest) Ada Hardwick of Byromville and Dorothy Reed of Tampa.

He was a graduate of Shiloh High School. He was a retired bus driver for Webster County, retiring with 28 years service. He was married to Mrs Hattie Reddick Nealy and had celebrated 56 years of marriage. they had 8 children. He was pastor of Jehovah Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, GA for 31 years; Harrison Chapel Baptist Church for 39 years and at Mt Zion Webster Baptist Church for 42 years. Survivors include his wife; 3 daughters, Ms Elaine Nealy, Sylvia Nealy and Angela (Larry) Mitchell; 5 sons, Joel (Betty) Nealy, George W (Ophelia) Nealy Jr, Paul Dean (Tonya) Nealy, Reverend Ronald Brooks (Diane) Nealy and Sterling Vance (Ruth) Nealy; a sister, Mrs Vera Henderson; 25 grandechildren; 10 great grandchildren.

He was a US Army Veteran of the Koran War and located in Columbus in 1991. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas D Neely and his twin brother, Durant Neely. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Gladys Campbell Neely of Columbus; 3 daughters, Darlene (James) Washington of Columbus, Gina (Ernest) Manning of Waukegan, IL and Deserie Neely Alston of Roseville, CA; a son, Anthony Neely of Columbus; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Adele Savage of Queens, NY and Sheila Murchinson of Baltimore, MD; a niece, Sandra Neely of New York City.
