She was born September 8, 1928 in Russell County, AL, daughter of Wiley and Georgia Lias and the widow of Charlie Upshaw. Preceding her in death were 7 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors include 2 sons, John L Upshaw of Pittsview, AL and Charles Upshaw of Columbus, GA; 5 daughters, Rosie Marion of Hurtsboro, AL, Lucille Mitchell of Clearwater, FL; Izola (Albert) Upshaw of Pittsview, AL, Betty Rutherford of Columbus, GA; Barbara Upshaw of Pittsview, AL; 3 sisters, Velma McLendon of Columbus, GA, Ella M Brown of Lima, OH and Dorothy Jones of Fort Myers, Fl; 47 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. |

Funeral services will be held at noon, Tuesday, July 7, 2004 at Mt Missouri Baptist Church in Rutherford, AL. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Reverend David Dawson officiating. She was born January 31, 1938 in Russell County, AL, daughter of Moses and Fannie Upshaw and was a member of Mt Missouri Baptist Church and worked at Opelika Manufacturing Company.
