Mr. William Parker Jr. (CWO, US Army, retired), of 401 Kensington Road, Columbus, GA, died Saturday, December 31, 2005 at his home. He was born in Port Arthur, TX on May 30, 1928, son of William Sr and Odie Lee Coleman Parker. He served in the US Army 26 years. He received a Bachelors Degree from Houston Tilotson College and his Masters Degree from Troy State University. From 1978 until 1983 he was employed with the Muscogee County School System, teaching at Fort Middle School and retired as a Transportation Specialist. He was a member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church. He was the widow of Mrs. Martha Nell Jones Parker. Survivors include two brothers: Woodrow (Dorothy) Parker and Leon (Joyce) Parker, both of Houston, TX; nieces and nephews, Myra Beckworth, Michael Parker, Marcus parker, all of Houston and Dr. donald (Karen) parker of Lake Charles, LA; a cousin, Ruth Mays of Sacramento, CA; cousin, Clem Jordan Jr. of COlumbus. Funeral services will be held Thursday at noon at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend J. H. Flakes officiating. Burial will be in the Main Post Cemetery. |
