Mrs. Morseller Berryhill Vance of 77B Barbara Battle Way died Friday at Pinehill Nursing home in Byromville. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Eastview cemetery with Reverend Melvin McCluster officiating. She was born June 3, 1903 in Lee County, daughter of Richard and Lula Boston Berryhill and the widow of Sonny Vance. She moved to Tampa in the early 30’s and retired from Tropical Garment Factory about 1978 and moved to Philadelphia. In 1979 she moved to Americus and was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice (Reverend H. E.) Ross and Mrs. Angie Copeland of Americus; brother in law, Clifford Allen, nieces and nephews, Richard Peterson of Lake Blackshear, Moses Peterson of East Orange, NJ, Robert Sims, Laura Mae Smith, Geraldine Patterson of Atlanta, James Berryhill of Philadelphia and Elizabeth Watts of Jacksonville.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Main Post cemetery at Fort Benning. He was born February 24, 1925 in Chicago, son of Mr.. And Mrs. Octave Varnum and was a member of Holsey Monumental C.M.E. Church. He retired from the US Army with twenty-four years service and from the US Postal Service. Surviving is his wife Catherine and a son, Kenneth Varnum of Columbus and two grandchildren.

Her son, Ernest Vaughn preceded her in death.
