He was born May 12, 1909 in Terrell County, was a member of Salem A.M.E. Church and widower of Ozzie Dell Williams. Surviving is a son, Cleveland Williams, Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Mae Parker of Bronwood and Mrs. Lula Mallory of Daytona Beach, FL; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1967 at Carver High School in Hamilton. She attended Mercer University for 2 years; transferred to Syracuse University and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in early childhod education and childhood psychology with (Cum Laude) honors. She taught in Muscogee County, GA schools, Phenix City, AL schools and at school at Fort Benning, GA. Survivors include a daughter, Angela Patman of Norcross, gA; a son, Michael (Kimberly) Ketchum of Kansas City, MO; 2 sisters, Mary (CHarles) Pressley of Midland, GA and Shirley Mason of LaGrange, GA; 2 grandsons, Christopher Patman of Norcross, GA and Marcus Alexander Ketchum of Kansas City, MO; 3 aunts, Ruby Mason of Belmar, NJ, Ruby Graddick of Hamilton, GA, Fannie Mason of Cataula, GA; niece, LaShanta Davis Lovett of LaGrange and a nephew, Kenneth Alexander Dent of Atlanta; former husband, James Ketchum of Decatur. Graveside services will be held at noon, April 2008 at Friendip Baptist Church in Hamilton, GA. |
