Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2007 at Gethsemane Baptist Church with Reverend Hawthorne Reed officiating. Burial will be in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. He was born February 15, 1918 in Chattahoochee County, GA, son of John H Adams and Idella Thomas Adams. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army. He was married to Doretha H Adams for 62 years, 9 months and 26 days. He joined Peters Chapel A.M.E. Church in his youth ant later became a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. He was the father of Carolyn and Ronnie Adams. Survivors include his wife, 2 children, Carolyn Porter (Charles) Harris and Dr Ron (Kim) Adams; 2 grandchildren, Herman Porter Jr and Ron Adams Jr; a great grandchild, Ashley Bush Porter; a brother, Geroge Thomas. |
