Luzia E "Lucy" Brown, 74, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at her resdence in Columbus, GA. Funeral services wil be held at noon, Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home. Chaplain Gene Ritchie will officiate. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery. She was born January 16, 1933 in Stuttgart, Germany, daughter of August and Emilie Schneider. Survivors include 3 sons, Kenneth Frank Miller, James Earl Miller and Kevin Williford, all of Columbus, GA; 3 daughters, Marsha Luzia Pybus and her husband, Frank Barkdull of Columbus, Linda Darlin Miller of Seale, AL and Juanita Corina (Glenn) Clark of Marietta, GA; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margot Brauning of Clifton, VA and Elizabth Martenka of Sachsenheim, Germany. |

Mrs. Mildred McCarter of 1018 Brooks Road, Columbus, GA, died Sunday, October 24, 2004 at her daughter's home. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 1 p.m., October 29 at New Bethel A.M.E. Church with Reverend McArthur Williams officiating, with burial in Westend cemetery in Phenix City, AL. She was born July 19, 1930 in Stewart County, GA, daughter of George and Eula Jones Williams. She joined New Bethel A.M.E. Church in 1944 and was the widow of Pete McCarter Sr.. Survivors include four children, Pete McCarter Jr, Mrs. Emma (Billy) Sanders, Ms Mildred McCarter and Mrs. Joan (Calvin Sr) Waller, all of Columbus; two adoptive daughters, Mrs. Louise (Ernest) Smith of Charlotte, NC and Mrs. Frankie (Raymond) Ruiz of Lawton, OK; two sisters, Ms Anna Williams of Brooklyn, NY and Ms Della Adams of Columbus; two brothers, Robert Shorter of Columbus and Nathaniel (Thomasena) Williams of Detroit, MI; sister in law, Mrs. Emma Harris of Columbus; thirteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren. |
