He was a member of Love Union Baptist Church in West Point, GA. At 17, he enlisted in the US Army and served 32 years, retired SFC, served in WW II, Korean War (POW) and Vietnam War. He jointed Mt Pilgrim Baptist Church and was the husband (62 years) of Lula Ramsey Ingram and father of 5 children. Survivors include his wife, his daugher, Charlotte Ingram, son Charles L Ingram, son Reverend William H (Ann) Ingram, daughter, Major US Army retired) Christallia (Jerry) Starks and son, Anthony L (Joy) Ingram; 7 grandchildren, William Ingram Jr, Keisha Ingram, Christopher Black, Michelle Ingram, Robert Ingram, Derron Black and Aaron Ingram. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. On September 24, 1961 he married Ora Dean Lyles and they were blessed with four children. In 1985 he moved to Plainfield, NJ and was employed with the Housing Authority for about thirteen years and was a member of Holy Ground Ministry of Plainfield. Surviving is his wife and children, Tommie (Monique) Ingram, Plainfield, Keyshia (Otis) Goodwin, Greensboro, SC, SSGT Robin Moore of Hagerstown, MD and Takeya Ingram of Plainfield; aunt and uncles, Ellen (Jimmy Sr.) Colson, Bertha Kate Jenkins, Susie Mae Westbrook and Charlie (Mae Lizzie) Williams.
