Funeral services for Bobby Lee Kaigler Jr who died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in Erie, PA, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Big Bethel Baptist Church in Americus, GA. Reverend Bobby Joe Sims will officiate. He was born May 11, 1948, son of Bobby Lee Kaigler Sr and Mary Lois Pits Kaigler. He attended McCoy Hill and Eastview Elementary and Staley Junior High School and graduated in 1966 from Sumter County High School. He accepted a football scholarship at Fort Valley State College, but due to health he had to forego. He earned his bachelor of scince Degree in History and Polical Science in May 1970 and his masters degree in guidance and counseling in December 1971. He moved to Erie in 1971 to live with his sister, Emmarene. He served as Director of Human Relations for the City of Erie for 20 years He was a member of Big Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his sister, Emmarene Kaigler Streeter of Americus; his nephew, John Durrell Streeter of College Park, GA; an aunt, Gradene Pitts Watson of Stone Mountain, GA; 2 uncles, Lee Morris (Marianne) Pitts of Warner Robins and Homer Lee Pitts of Americus, GA; cousins, Bobbie (Henry) Frost of Decatur, Oneita Releford of Warner Robis, Lechelle Pitts of Columbia, SC, Carol (Reverend Johnny) Lundy, Theresa Mansfeild, Ruby Jean Owens, Marianne Pitts, Juanita Smith, Beulah Carter and Lavonne Hamilton of Americus; Faye Henderson of Albany, Stephanie (Carrol) Johnson of Warner Robins, Mariana (Daydrin) Shell of Lithonia GA. |

Mrs Elnora Wright Kearse of 298 Enfield Street, Hartford, CT, dormerly of DeSoto, GA, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at her home. She was the widow of Mathis Kearse. She was the daughter of Freeman and Martha Laramore Wright and lived in Hartford for 55 years. In 1957 she was a founding member of Mount Mariah Baptist Church in Hartford. Shewas employed as Patient Advocate at the Hebrew Home and Hospital, West Hartford for 41 years. Merle A Kendall, 79, of 620 Perkins Street, Fort Benning, GA, died Thursday at the Medical Center in Columbus, GA. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Progressive Funeral Home. She was born June 23, 1916 in Alness, Guyana, daughter of Charlie and Enid Hintzen Houston. |
