She was born February 9, 1925 in Sumter County, daughter of David and Beulah Hudson and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and widow of Joel Sneed and Thomas Quartlebaun. Surviving are 7 daughters, Dorothy Hardley of Tampa, Beverly Farris, Lois Ashley, Charlou Brown, Thomasine Deleon and Athea Quartlebaun of Philadelphia and Barbara Williams of Texas; 3 sons, Joe Sneed of Minneapolis, Robert Sneed and Thomas Quartlebaun, Jr. of Philadelphia; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mrs. Minnie Hubbard of Atlanta and Mrs. Daisy Swain of Americus; 3 brothers, John Hudson of Detroit, James Hudson of Minneapolis and Matthew Hudson of Tampa; 20 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
